Human Factors Integration

Previous

If human performance is important to your business, Human Factors Integration (HFI) is the process of applying human factors. HFI can appear overly complex and a bit daunting, but don’t be fooled or put off, it doesn’t have to be complicated.

HFI is simply a structured way of making sure human factors (typically end-users) have been considered throughout the project lifecycle. Like many things, you can do it yourself (many people do it without really thinking of it as HFI), but if you are designing something that is particularly complex, hazardous or prone to error, managing HF as a specific activity throughout the project lifecycle will save you time and money in the long run.
